I am sitting here writing this and it is hard to put into words just what a visit to LS Pasos has done and just how grateful I am to have found this amazing place. After visiting an open day, in April 2008, run by Lorraine I was addicted :) I had always loves horses but after many scary moments with share horses in my teenage years, I thought it just wasn't for me. Lorraine introduced me to Pasos and groundwork, where for the first time in my life I felt I was able to be confident both on the ground and on the horse (something I did not believe was possible).
This was really just the beginning, for I started to share one of Lorraine's amazing Paso's, who I am now so very happy to have made my own. This was not without it's good and bad days but with the nonjudgmental and constant support and training from Lorraine, combined with the amazing calm and kind nature of the Paso Fino, I can now say for the first time in my life that I am a confident and very happy horse owner. I am now enjoying for the first time building a bond and relationship with my lovely mare, something in the past that was hindered by my fears!
I could never have chosen such a perfect horse to suit my needs, confidence and ability as Lorraine did with Carmalita, exceeding all my expectations with our bond building stronger each day. I truly believe with the happiness of the horse and owner being at the forefront, Lorraine is able to use her instinct, knowledge and experience to form the perfect partnership.
I really want to thank Lorraine from the bottom of my heart and all of the amazing people she has around her (Margaret, the girls, Tamara, Pippa, Shona and everyone else who are always kind and supportive) for all she has done to make me such a happy horse owner.

I’d been searching for a Paso Fino horse for a few months and came across LS Paso Finos in the UK. Lorraine Stanley, the owner, was superb. She invited me down to her yard to meet her Paso’s and go for a trial ride. I was hooked from the first moment I sat on my first Paso. I loved the gait … it was smooth, comfortable and I felt I could have gone on for ever.
After my second visit, I decided that this was the breed for me and asked Lorraine to find me a horse. I had a budget to stick to and after much searching Lorraine went to Germany to look at several horses that might be suitable.
She kept me updated for the 5 days she was in Germany and came back with a video with 3 horses she considered suitable. I chose a young filly that was coming up to 4 yrs.
During the buying process, Lorraine was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She obviously loves the breed with a passion that is infectious.
She is helping me with training and instruction and I would recommend her to anyone who is thinking of buying one of these incredible horses.
Thank You, Lorraine, for all your help, advice and encouragement. I am certain with your enthusiasm and drive you will be instrumental in promoting this wonderful breed all over the UK and go on to do great things in the Paso community.

Thankyou for a great time, we really loved all the horses and the foal was really cute. Thanks for teaching us to ride, it was a little scary but so much fun too.

I developed an interest in the Paso Fino horses in 2002 when Lorraine bought her first Paso. I have always had a healthy respect for horses in general and not like to get too close. However, over the years I have come to love and admire this fantastic breed. The horses I have come into contact with are all very different but have one thing in common – their super temperament – including the stallion ‘Padrino’ (he definitely has the WOW factor). I have longed to have the courage to learn to ride and have finally taken the step. I have now had four lessons on Canella, who is a super beginners horse, and have even managed to ride on my own and gaited! What an experience. The gait was even smoother than the walk! I couldn’t believe it. I can’t wait for my next lesson and to go out on a hack.
Lorraine is a very patient teacher - even with her mum!
If I can ride one of these horses then I assure you anyone can. If you are a nervous rider or haven’t yet had the courage to try, then these are the horses for you.
Thank you Lorraine for persevering with me!!

I first visited LS Paso Finos with a friend just because Pasos looked interesting, and we both thought we would like to ride these wonderful horses. From arrival (and dashing straight for the loo of course!!) to leaving, in fact some hours later. The whole experience was magical. How wonderful to find someone wanting to keep horses in as natural environment as possible, there is such a feeling of space. All the horses came over one by one to find out who we were, I did in fact have the pleasure of riding Napanga and Canella. WOW!! I really didn't want to get off! I could have taken any one or in fact all of Lorraine's horses home with me then. Needless to say I was back the next week to go for another ride. Now having been back and ridden all the horses, having met Lorraine a few times and made to feel at home on every occasion - I will be buying a Paso. When I do I know I’ll be in good hands and Lorraine will find me the perfect partner!

My story with Pasos was a bit of a surprise for me! I have ridden for over 28 years but had a serious fall and broke my neck when I was 20. I got back in the saddle 2 years later and was riding again although I was a lot more nervous and it took me time to get back to my galloping days and enjoy riding again.
5 years ago I bought a new horse and gorgeous Lipizzaner gelding who is the love of my life, but then I got M.E. / CFS and was unable to ride him at all and advertised for a rider for him. I decided that I didn’t want to be away from horses so got into miniatures and that was fine for a while but this last year my energy levels started to come back but still not as much as before, so I could ride my Lipi but only for about 15 mins once a week and it did wipe me out.
I went to visit Lorraine at LS Paso Finos because she offered a try on these gorgeous horses…………big mistake !!!…..Pasos are wonderful horses, they are loving and fun but also completely safe and easy to ride. I found I could ride one for an hour and feel the same as riding my Lipi for 15 mins, this is because they are easy to ride no kicking on, no pulling to stop them and you don’t need to rise in the saddle as they are super smooth to ride. I had also lost a lot of my confidence riding because my strength had gone from me and I was worried I couldn’t stop my horse if I needed to, the Paso who are so responsive I have found are ideal for me. After my first ride I went home and could not think of anything else, once you ride one you will understand the famous Paso smile and how addictive they are!
Thanks to Lorraine and her team I now am the proud owner of a gorgeous Paso Fino mare who I ride out regularly. ~I still have my Lipi although he is going to ridden by someone else now (couldn’t sell him either!) and my miniatures but my Paso Fino has brought the reality of riding back to me to be enjoyed. Lorraine has been so helpful and all her horses are so friendly, happy and healthy.
I would recommend a Paso and LS Paso Finos to literally anyone, from the total beginner to the experienced rider, you can even jump some of them!!…but especially to the nervous or anyone with medical problems which makes usual riding difficult…give the Paso a go !!!
